" ART is not a thing - it is a WAY"  Elbert Hubbard

Rebecca O'Day and Mickey Bond are both working artists and the co-owners of ALTA ContemporaryArt in Tubac, AZ.  Rebecca lives in Arizona ~ Mickey lives in New Mexico!  Creativity & Communication abound between these women because of, for, and through ART! This lively and warm little studio gallery is sited in beautiful and grounded historic Tubac, Az.

ALTA Contemporary Art represents the diverse talents and mediums of 2 passionate and very different artists. Each expressive contemporary painters and craftswomen on many levels, we offer week-long enrichment programs many times a year on a wide range of subjects and studies. Workshops are held in Arizona and in New Mexico.   Plein-Aire workshops and artist's retreats in Madera Canyon, AZ are scheduled for January 2012 at CHUPAROSA B & B.  Casual and intimate, we all learn from each other guided by the Do's and Dont's that we have learned in the field over many years.  These workshops often culminate in a group gallery show. A spiritual componant is ever at play weaving friendship through shared emotions about art into each of us.

Both Rebecca and Mickey are artist's consultants and "teachers"on many levels.  Feel free to contact to ask questions about anything that comes to mind.  If we can't answer or don't have experience in what you inquire, we will find someone who does. We believe strongly in a large network of artists and industry professionals, it futhers everyone's awareness and enjoyment in the Arts.

We have both participated inmany Open Studio Tours in both locations, have held and hosted dozens.  We each show in seleted exhibits in galleries throughout the USA.  Both are active members at Tubac Center for the Arts and numerous art and educational organizations worldwide.

We love representing and offering fine art  for sale as well as a grounding experience, our friendship and an opportunity to grow and learn from each other through our numerous lively dicsussions. We offer our guests to the  studio-gallery the benefit of our combined education, expertise and sense of artful and UNIQUE artforms.  As Mickey so deftly says...our space has a pulse! You will find little mainstream art here, nothing "usual".  We enjoy uber creativity and freedom of expression. We hope you will enjoy it with us.  2011 and the oncoming 2012 finds us pondering new venues and considering studio space in Tucson .... stay tuned

We are both very happy to speak with you about commission work.  We are well versed in consultations and working within your economic constraints.  We want our work to live within your walls. Feel most comfortable asking! Thank you.
